The Saskatchewan government spends over $100 million each year on goods and services, ranging from food to snowplows.

Through a fair, open, and competitive process, the Purchasing Branch coordinates the purchase of goods and some services for government ministries, boards, agencies, commissions, as well as some Crown corporations. This centralized purchasing service supports program delivery by purchasing quality products and services that represent the best overall value for government.

  • Goods tenders over $5,000 and service tenders over $25,000 are advertised on SaskTenders.
  • For goods tenders valued between $5,000 and $25,000 and service tenders up to $100,000, preference may be given to Saskatchewan suppliers.
  • Procurement of goods less than $5,000 or services not in the area of information technology are usually handled by individual ministries.
